For the past 7 years or so, I've been sharing my thoughts with the readers here every random time, and It's been three years since I've been following Aida Azlin by sending me love letter every tuesday consistantly. For this week, she sent a love letter which contain of 10 questions for our soul. So I thought it would be good if I answer all those questions here on my own platform.
Ready? Bismillah.
1. When was the last time you made a sincere prayer for someone other than yourself or your family?
"Recently, I feel of heartbreaking news about the severe attacks on Palestine by Israel. I have silently included some pieces of prayer, not knowing whom I address them to, but I pray for all of them, the entire Muslim community. I also included a prayer for someone's well-being and the overall success of their endeavors for me."
2. Do you think you are using your time in this world, well?
"Sometimes, when I am alone and contemplative, I feel that I haven't utilized my time in the world effectively. I realize that there are many moments wasted, with numerous tasks at hand that I deliberately fail to make good use of.
3. Is there something in your line of sight right now that brings you joy or a reminder of calm?
"One thing that brings me happiness and peace is the moment when I finally realize that I am only living in the present. Not dwelling too much on aspirations for the future is my main key to staying calm in the face of the various pressures coming from the outside world. And I feel that it's already more than enough for me."
4. Which name of Allah SWT have you been holding close to your heart as of late?
"Rahman. Rahim. Which means the Most Gracious and the Most Merciful. I strongly believe that everything that happens, whether good or bad, occurs for those reasons. And until today, as I write this, it is also the reason why Allah continues to be so loving and bestows abundant mercy upon me."
5. How is your relationship with the Quran? How can you make it better?
One thing I need to admit is that I have a deep sadness regarding my relationship with the Quran. I've lost many of my memorizations and my schedule to send quality time with the Quran is quite chaotic. I am not dedicating time to it, but only the leftover time that I can spare. If only the Quran could speak, perhaps it would be angry and rebelliouss because I am not as close as I used to be.
6. Do you pray more than you post?
I pray at every moment as long as I continue to remember Him. I pray not just because there are many things I cannot reach with my two hands, but because I need strenght beyond myself from Allah.
7. When was the last time you allowed yourself to rest with Allah Swt?
For the past year, I have lived alone in tiny room. It's a space when only Allah watches over me. In that place, I have become my true self, a space where it's just me and Allah, a place for everything to be shared. I am happy because soon I will share my space and my heart with the one who loves me.
8. What are you proscrastinating? Why?
I admit that I am someone who extreamily proscrastinates, but the upside is that even though I tend to delay things, I am still determined to finish what I started. At least I am responsible for my self.
9. How much time do you commit to learning about the Deen in a week?
I am commited not only within a specific time frame but any given moment, especially in my free time. I dedicate it to listening to various Islamic studies to broaden my knowledge about my religion.
10. What is Allah Swt currently teaching you in this season of your life ?
After graduated, I got the biggest lesson from the past year which Allah has granted me, is about patience and acceptance. ALlah does not delay something except for it to be the best and He does not hasten something unless it is indeed the best for me. Therefore, I am grateful to ALlah fpr what I durrently have.
